Built for shops that ship to Germany
Selling into Germany from abroad
Shops in the UK, the US or elsewhere in the EU. preg counts only orders delivered to German addresses. Since 12 August 2026 you also need an authorised representative in Germany, and preg gives them the figures.
Shops based in Germany
One set of figures that you enter identically in LUCID and with your dual system, so the two reports always match.
Advisers and authorised representatives
A CSV your client exports in a few clicks, so you start from their order data instead of an estimate.
2026 is two reporting periods
The VerpackDG replaced the VerpackG on 12 August 2026. Volumes before and after that date are recorded separately, and preg splits them for you by shipping date.
- VerpackG1 January to 11 August 2026
- VerpackDG12 August to 31 December 2026
From orders to report-ready figures
Describe your product packaging
Material and weight for each product or variant, stored as metafields in your own store.
Describe your parcel once
Your box, mailer and filler. preg counts it once per parcel, not once per item.
Pick a period, copy the figures
Kilograms per material to three decimals, plus a CSV to keep as your working record.
preg calculates. You or your authorised representative file the figures in LUCID and with your dual system.
Built never to report too little
Unknown is not zero
If a product you sold has no packaging profile, the report is marked incomplete and names the missing products. They are never quietly counted as nothing.
- No short years
- If the period reaches further back than the order history preg is allowed to read, the report is blocked and preg tells you why.
- No double-counted boxes
- Three items in one parcel is one box. Shipping packaging is counted per shipment.
- Exact arithmetic
- Weights are summed in whole milligrams and rounded to kilograms once, at the end.
- The seven official materials
- The report uses exactly the seven material types of the data report. Wood is not subject to system participation and never appears in it.
- No customer data
- preg reads only the delivery country of each order. No names, email addresses or street addresses.

Questions
- Does preg file my reports?
- No. preg calculates the figures. You or your authorised representative enter them in LUCID and with your dual system. The CSV records how they were calculated.
- Can it help with planned volumes for next year?
- As a starting point, yes. Run a report on the last twelve months and use the totals as the basis for your planned volumes.
- Which countries does it cover?
- Germany. Orders delivered to other countries are not counted.
- Can it cover a whole year?
- Yes. preg reads your full Shopify order history, so a whole calendar year is no problem. If a period ever cannot be read in full, preg produces no report rather than a short one.
- What about returns?
- By default preg counts units actually shipped. Whether returns may be deducted is a legal question, so check with your dual system or adviser.
- Is this legal advice?
- No. preg applies the counting rules described on this page. For questions about your obligations, ask your dual system or a compliance adviser.
